There’s More Than One Way to Support a Cupcake Kid!

We are so thankful for families like the Redburns and many others around the world whose hearts are breaking for children that are imprisoned under horrendous conditions.  No matter what size, contributions of time, talent and treasure multiply exponentially in God’s Kingdom!

My name is Ashley Redburn.  My husband Lincoln and I got married in 2004 and currently have four children ages 7 and under:  1 bio son, 1 bio daughter, and Ethiopian twins who came home at age 6.  My husband and I really believe that adoption is not the end all of orphan care, and just because we adopted two children does not mean that our “job is done”.  Actually, it’s just begun!  Our eyes have finally been opened, and we can not pretend that we don’t know the need exists anymore. Since returning home from Ethiopia with 2 of our sons, I have been praying that God would show me how He wants me to continue to care for the orphans and widows of the world.  I prayed ferverently in the weeks leading up to the Created For Care Retreat in early February, asking God to make some things very clear to me…one of them being ways that I could continue to serve the orphan from our home.

That Saturday I got to chance to visit with some of the Sixty Feet ladies and learned a little more about their organization and cupcake sales.  My life changed Saturday night when I watched their documentary “Bereaved”.  I thought I knew about the hurting children of the world, I had two of them in my own home…but I was wrong.  I had no idea.  My stomach was sick and my heart was hurt.  My cousin and I stayed up late that night in our hotel room brainstorming ways that we could help.

Between now and April 23rd we will be doing several things:  Cupcake sales to local people, virtual cupcake sales to those around the world, a Pampered Chef fundraiser, and a Thirty-One Gifts fundraiser.

If you are interested in purchasing a virtual cupcake, please visit my blog (afr2007.blogspot.com).  All proceeds of the virtual cupcake sales go directly to SixtyFeet.

If you are interested in purchasing Pampered Chef items, please visit ( pamperedchef.biz/ashleyredburn) and enter Sixty Feet as your host.  SixtyFeet will get 15% of all sales.

If you are interested in purchasing Thirty-One Gifts items, please visit ( www.mythirtyone.com/jessicalea) and choose Ashley Redburn as your host.  SixtyFeet will get 10% of all sales.

These sales are the beginning of our partnership with Sixty Feet, and I can’t wait to see where The Lord leads us in the future!

Blessings,

Ashley and family

  1. Hey…so cool that you are doing this….ladies in my small group are letting me host a thirty one and tastefully simple party April 15th (the same day I am doing the cupcake sale at my preschool) and are donating a percentage to Sixty Feet too!
