If you’ve read my blog long you know our family and our heart for Africa. When I first heard of Sixty Feet it seemed a little too perfect. Africa. Imprisoned Children. Fighting Injustice. AND Cupcakes?!? So many things I’m passionate about and their biggest fund raiser includes baking and selling cupcakes. FANTASTIC!
Last year we weren’t able to participate in the annual Cupcake Kids Sale. We had only been home with Zahra for a couple weeks and we were still figuring things out as a new family of seven.
THIS year we’re all about getting our CUPCAKE ON!!
I’ve been looking at cupcake recipes, decorating ideas, flavor combinations, healthy variations, gluten free options, and FROSTING!! Honestly though, its not really about the cupcakes or the frosting, the best flavor or decorations. Its about two things. Imprisoned children being able to hear about the gospel, to experience new life, and to allow the ministry of Sixty Feet to continue. Real people working every single day to be Jesus with skin on to these children. PLUS. Connecting our kids with the realities of things going on beyond our back yard. The conversations that come over whipping up a batch of cupcakes for a cause is amazing. My kids have learned so much about the world through conversations, participating in fundraisers, little things that are really big things. Just like this. Its an honor to be able to participate and serve in this way. Something so small like selling cupcakes. Making a BIG difference. ALL to the glory of God.

You can do it anywhere! Your yard, the park, ask a local restaurant or store, it doesn’t matter, it’ll be a blast and doing it WITH your kids, friends, neighbors, even strangers makes it that much better!!
